2009 Home Coffee Roasting Festival – Dancing Flames
Caravan Coffee of Newberg, Oregon is hosting a first ever Home Coffee Roasting Festival on Saturday June 13th. The name of the festival is Dancing Flames. Let us hope their idea of dancing flames isn’t like my 2001 Melitta Aromaroast Mishap.
Admission is free, but they will be collecting money for the BBQ.
From their press release:
There are many people roasting their own coffee over a campfire in a skillet, in their garage with unique home-made roasters made of spare parts, or on countertops with commercially purchased appliances. It will be a fun day for home roasters from all over to gather in the Northwest and experience other home roasting techniques and ideas from their peers. What better place to have the “First ever…” than right here in the Northwest, which is known for it’s great coffee adventures.

Michael, I love the smiley face concept…will try at next cupping and watch for response from Q-grader Roastmaster extraordinaire Paul Allen. I will, of course, give you credit for my new grading schedule.
Did you get the pix and article about Dancing Flames after the wonderful event? We were thrilled with the turnout and enthusiasm. Let me know if you need it sent again. We are collecting addresses for next year’s follow-up event. We appreciate your promo & love of coffee.
